Am I eligible for a Scholarship?
To qualify you must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum 12 months' employment with Opal HealthCare
- Must be current permanent full time or part time Opal HealthCare team member with a sound performance record
- Be an Australian citizen/resident
Note: To apply for the WSU Aged Care Management courses you must be in a leadership role such as General Manager or Care Manager.

A scholarship is a grant or payment made to support a student's education, awarded based on academic or other achievement. How scholarships work at Opal HealthCare is that after you pay for your course, Opal will reimburse you in accordance with the arrangements detailed in your Scholarship confirmation letter.

After being accepted in your course program, you’ll send through the invoice receipt for the course along with a completed ‘Team Reimbursement Form’. Those documents will then be processed, and you’ll be reimbursed accordingly

There is no limit to the number of Scholarships a team member may apply for.

If you've been reimbursed funds for your studies and then withdraw from the course, you'll be required to repay those funds to Opal HealthCare.

Opal HealthCare will provide 2 paid study leave days to attend examinations if required, paid at your ordinary rate of pay. This study leave will be in addition to your current leave types and should be coordinated in advance with your manager.

Please refer to the Eligibility section above to see if you meet the requirements. If you don't currently meet the Scholarship requirements you may wish to consider Traineeships and Apprenticeships as an alternative.

If your preferred university isn't listed, please include the university name in the scholarship application form under "Other".

Signing the letter enters you and Opal HealthCare into a legal agreement. This is because by agreeing to provide you with this study assistance, Opal HealthCare is making a significant investment in your professional development and views this as a mutual commitment by both parties. Please read the terms and conditions in your scholarship letter carefully. Please sign the letter and email it to academy@opalhealthcare.com.au
